As of gdm 2.26-1ubuntu1 the gdm-user-switcher is included replacing the
fast-user-switch-applet, the included switcher is lacking significantly
in functionality compared to fast-user-switch-applet. Missing features
include:
- no possibility to directly select shutdown or restart
- no way of customizing appearance (e.g. remove login name to reduce size)
- no longer integrates with Pidgin IM
Please either include fast-user-switch-applet functionality in gdm-user-
switcher or revert to using fast-user-switch-applet.
