I just started having this problem in hardy (manifested by Java) after an update today (2009-07-14). The sed/XINERAMA workaround suggested by others earlier worked for now.
Here are the packages I upgraded, it began immediately afterward: 2009-07-14 09:12:52 upgrade libdbus-1-3 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.2 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.3 2009-07-14 09:12:52 upgrade dbus 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.2 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.3 2009-07-14 09:12:52 upgrade dbus-x11 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.2 1.1.20-1ubuntu3.3 2009-07-14 09:12:52 upgrade libtiff4 3.8.2-7ubuntu3.2 3.8.2-7ubuntu3.4 2009-07-14 09:12:52 upgrade libtiff-tools 3.8.2-7ubuntu3.2 3.8.2-7ubuntu3.4 -- hardy, locking assertion failure, xorg/libsdl https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to pygtk in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
