Could you please point out which questions I haven't answered? The only question I can find is that Steffen Banhardt asked if the posted solution works. As I posted earlier, the proposed solution did not work for me. After some additional testing I withdraw my need to run killall compiz for the fix to work. Timing the 'killall gnome-panel' correctly and then launching gnome-panel on the second display is sufficient.
I have tried enabling apport to catch the crash by following the instructions for temporarily enabling apport at <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport>, but the crash occured without apport reacting to it in any discernible way. If there is some other way to make apport trigger on the crash or if there is some other information that would be needed, I will gladly provied it, but to do so I must know which information is needed. -- gnome-panel crashes in endless loop on login https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
