On Asus EEE PC 1000HE running 9.10:
Keyboard shortcuts (XF86AudioMute, XF86AudioLowerVolume,
XF86AudioRaiseVolume keys) for controlling volume (through gnome-
keybinding-properties application) do not change the sound output at
all. The gnome-volume-control-applet shows no changes, but the GNOME
popup that appears when hitting the keys shows changes that are not
realized.
