Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon
This problem appeared after upgrading to version 2.27.4-0ubuntu1.
Gnome-settings-daemon continuously consumes about 50% CPU (on a single-core
machine with Hyper-Threading).
Downgrading to gnome-settings-daemon_2.27.3-0ubuntu2 restores normal behaviour.
If I kill the process and then start it in a terminal, it ceaselessly floods
the window with the following message:
"** (gnome-settings-daemon:4386): WARNING **: Connection failed,
reconnecting..."
