Thanks for your bug. That's because libgnome uses esound for sound
events and requires to have it running to play them. Closing since
that's not a bug. Feel free to reopen if you disagree. There is some
plan to switch libgnome to use gstreamer instead of esound bug there is
already some other bugs about that
