The thumbnails are stored in ~/.thumbnails/normal (and /large). Each
thumbnail filename seems to be a hash of the original filename. I guess
only the filename is used and not the full path, so two images with the
same name will have the same thumbnail.

If the dual files no longer exists on your computer, you can delete the
content of the .thumbnails folder.
