** Summary changed: - hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 + hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 w/ EMERALD
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Hello On a Samsung X360 with Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty 64 bit version) I have a problem with RESUME from hibernate or sleep. In both cases it seems my computer will sleep/hibernate, and in the latter case when going through the grub loading stage, it even states 'waking' or something, but ultimately, it seems to completely restart the X-server, therefore the state of my desktop is not preserved at all. + + Some tests indicate this may be an issue with the EMERALD window + decorator, that is, it seems to work if I use GTK. Everything worked fine with 32bit Jaunty. -john My stats: Linux niflino 2.6.28-13-generic #45-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 30 22:12:12 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux cpu: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU U9400 @ 1.40GHz, 800 MHz Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU U9400 @ 1.40GHz, 800 MHz storage: Intel ICH9M/M-E SATA AHCI Controller network: eth0 Marvell 88E8055 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller wlan0 Intel WLAN controller disk: /dev/sda SAMSUNG MMCQE28G lshal | grep can_[s/h] power_management.can_hibernate = true (bool) power_management.can_suspend = true (bool) power_management.can_suspend_hybrid = false (bool) gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome-power-manager /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons: lid_battery = nothing hibernate = hibernate suspend = suspend lid_ac = nothing power = interactive /apps/gnome-power-manager/keyboard: brightness_battery = 50 brightness_ac = 100 /apps/gnome-power-manager/actions: low_ups = nothing sleep_type_ac = suspend event_when_closed_battery = true critical_ups = shutdown critical_battery = shutdown sleep_type_battery = nothing /apps/gnome-power-manager/ambient: dim_policy = none correction_factor = 50 correction_scale = 200 poll_timeout = 60 enable = true /apps/gnome-power-manager/thresholds: time_low = 1200 time_critical = 300 percentage_low = 10 time_action = 120 percentage_critical = 3 percentage_action = 2 /apps/gnome-power-manager/ui: show_context_menu = true show_actions_in_menu = true icon_policy = charge enable_sound = true /apps/gnome-power-manager/lowpower: on_battery = true on_ups = true on_ac = false /apps/gnome-power-manager/lock: hibernate = true suspend = true gnome_keyring_hibernate = true blank_screen = false use_screensaver_settings = false gnome_keyring_suspend = false /apps/gnome-power-manager/timeout: sleep_computer_battery = 5100 sleep_computer_ac = 0 sleep_display_ac = 1800 sleep_display_battery = 1260 /apps/gnome-power-manager/statistics: graph_type = power show_events = true show_axis_labels = true smooth_data = true data_max_time = 21600 /apps/gnome-power-manager/backlight: dpms_method_battery = default idle_dim_time = 30 battery_reduce = true brightness_ac = 100 idle_brightness = 30 enable = true idle_dim_ac = false brightness_battery = 70 dpms_method_ac = default idle_dim_battery = true brightness_dim_battery = 50 /apps/gnome-power-manager/general: invalid_timeout = 500 use_profile_time = true ignore_inhibit_requests = false check_type_cpu = false debug = false can_suspend = true can_hibernate = true use_time_for_policy = true network_sleep = false installed_schema = 3 policy_suppression_timeout = 5 /apps/gnome-power-manager/notify: discharging = false inhibit_lid = false sleep_failed = true low_power = true perhaps_recall = true low_capacity = true estimated_data = true fully_charged = false -- hibernate / suspend RESUME failure on 64 bit 9.04 w/ EMERALD https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
