My laptop used to beep on shutdown in Intrepid and Jaunty and no longer
does in Karmic without need for any blacklisting. I am marking this
fixed -- please only comment if you are still experiencing the problem
in Karmic.
Also, from what I understand of the kernel change that was required, it
is not suitable for a backport.
