Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Since the ability to edit the metadata for m4a files was enabled in
Jaunty, I have been changing the genres for a few m4a files. After
syncing with my iPod, these files are no longer playable. The iPod just
skips through them. I tested it just now by taking an unmodified m4a
file and modifying the genre in Rhythmbox.

I modified hundreds of m4a files using Rhythmbox and now I can't play
them back on my iPod. I tried using a different program to edit the
metadata for the affected files but they still do not play. I can still
play them through Rhythmbox though.

I am using 9.04.

** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
