I can confirm that trying to shut down on Karmic when logged in has the same effect as logging off, even without auto-login enabled. This problem has existed since the new GDM was introduced in Karmic and was only temporally solved once. Sometimes GDM crashes when trying to shut down, and you are given a console.
This probably also affects suspend and hibernate. -- gdm restarts on shutdown or restart in karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406962 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
