Binary package hint: gedit
Using Ubuntu Karmic fully updated, gedit name is missing from the
Applications menu, i.e. I have Applications|Accessories|gedit instead of
Applications|Accesories|Text Editor
The problems seems to be in /usr/share/applications/gedit.desktop

Name=gedit
GenericName=Text Editor
Comment=Edit text files

gedit:
