Binary package hint: gcalctool

It used to be possible to do conversion from different bases by just
pressing the base hex,dec,bin,oct this no longer is the case and it's
more or less useless for me now.

how to reproduce. 
open calculator
select view->programming
do a calulation 10+1 then when the answer shows select different bases and se 
the answer go back to 0. 

This is defeating the whole point of the program. who want this ??
