In Karmic Koala Alpha 5, the Power Manager Brightness Applet has a red
cross over it and the tooltip text says: "Cannot get laptop panel
brightness". Therefore, I cannot set the brightness of the display using
this tool. Also, the brightness does not change when I plug the laptop
into an AC outlet like it did in 9.04. I suspect this has something to
do with HAL deprecation in 9.10. Howewer, I can manually set the
brightness using the FN + F9/F10 keys.
