I'm getting the same symptoms under a 64bit virtualbox. Totem can play an MP3 with sound, but not an MP4 file's sound. Video from the MP4 file works fine. The MP4 file works with sound and video on 9.04.
The file can be downloaded here: http://tcs.java.no/tcs/ Running totem from the command line gives: niko...@nikolaj-desktop:~$ totem Desktop/State\,\ Your\'e\ Doing\ It\ Wrong\ \ Exploring\ Alternative\ Con.mp4 (totem:2215): GLib-WARNING **: GError set over the top of a previous GError or uninitialized memory.
