Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
I am unable to change my time-zone using time-admin on an up-to-date
Karmic system. Here's how to reproduce:
1. My time-zone is incorrectly set to Europe/London:
t...@tom-desktop:~$ cat /etc/timezone
Europe/London
2. System -> Administration -> Time and Date
3. I click the keychain symbol to make changes
4. My timezone is listed as "." (see first screenshot)
5. I change it to Europe/Amsterdam.
6. It is now listed as ". Europe/Amsterdam" (note the leading period, this may
be a separate bug; see second screenshot).
7. I click close
8. The time has not changed, moreover, my time zone is still set to London:
t...@tom-desktop:~$ cat /etc/timezone
Europe/London
9. I am an hour late for work.
