Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-session
Dear friends and Free Software enthusiasts and idealists,
Usually, when I click on my name in the panel (User Switcher applet) and
then Shutdown or Restart, a 60 seconds countdown starts.
There is another case, though, where the countdown doesn't start; when
another user's process is running.
The way I encounter this is:
1. Open a terminal and type in 'su <other user>' and enter his password.
2. Click your name in the panel and click Shut Down.../Restart....
3. Enter your password for authentication.
What happens now is that there's no countdown, but instead, the system
shuts down/restarts immediately.
I think that it should be expected that the system will, after the
authentication, display the same dialog with the same countdown. But I'm
not sure :). Reporting anyway.
May we bring forth the age of Free Software.
