Binary package hint: nvidia-settings
I'm experienced main power loss at my home around 30mins. Before my PC were
shutdown automatically because of the power loss, my default display is
1280x1024. When the power goes up back, suddenly my display become default by
640x480. When I check the resolution available, there's only 'Off" which is
actually disabled, 'Auto' which sets my default display to 640x480, '640x480'
and '320x240'. The other options are lose to nowhere. And than I press
Ctrl+Alt+F2, login as root, and shutdown the PC through command window
(terminal in desktop tty2). When it restarts back, after I really fed up with
the Nvidia settings, I choose 'xfix' on the options window. And then I shutdown
the correct way. When I switch on back my PC, the resolution become as what I
need (1280x1024). But when I run 'nvidia-settings' after press Alt+F2, suddenly
there's an error, due to I use 'xfix' stated that I'm not using the Nvidia X
Services and ask me to login as root and run terminal, then put the command
'nvidia-xconfig'. Then I do it as instructed by the program, and then nothing
happens in the terminal. Now, what do I want is actually, how to solve the
power probs regarding to my graphic display and how to enable back the Nvidia X
Services?
Attached also are the screenshot of the Nvidia X Services Settings which shows
the error.
Hope somebody here from LP can assist me solve this stress-minded probs.
Thanks.
