I also have a D430, and for me this only happens if I detach AC power
while the computer is suspended (which is tracked in bug 425411). Is
that the case for you as well?

If not, please do

  killall gnome-power-manager
  gnome-power-manager --verbose > /tmp/gpm.log 2>&1

then reproduce the problem (close/open lid), then ^C and attach
/tmp/gpm.log. Thanks!

** Summary changed:

- laptop lid opening doesn't always restore operation
+ suspends again after suspend-on-lid

** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete

** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu)
