Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-system-monitor

when visual effects are set as "none", i open System Monitor and the
only thing I see is a green and white window. I cant use the
application. If I change the visual effects to "extra", the problem is
solved. I don't know what happends with "normal" visual effects because
now I cant change the visual effects.

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10

gnome-system-monitor:
  Installed: 2.28.0-0ubuntu1
