The message that is printed when nautilus closes unexpectedly indicates
that more information could be collected when a breakpoint in
gdk_x_error is set. This unfortunately locks up my system as soon as the
breakpoint is hit. The mouse was still moving but clicking on anything
was no longer possible. The keyboard also did not work as expected so
that i could not get at the shell with gdb running...

Fortunately killing gdb after logging in with ssh worked and the system
recovered. With a second try, running "gdb nautilus" from the ssh
connection i was able to collect a traceback. Looking at it contents it
crashes after "grab_dnd_keys" which might explain why the system can not
be controlled with the mouse and keyboard with the breakpoint set.
