Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nautilus
Nautilus 2.28.1 (1:2.28.1-0ubuntu1) - Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala"
When checking the "Use Compact Layout" option in Nautilus preferences
under "Icon View Defaults", closing preferences and browsing folders
then turning Compact layout off, instead of displaying icons in normal,
spaced layout, Nautilus "remembers" the compact layout for all the
folders you visited when having it turned on and displays other folders
normally. Restarting, refreshing and changing the option back on and off
changes nothing.
