Starting with Jaunty if I put an image on background the all windows start and
refresh appear slowly. In Jaunty I supported this. I managed from gconf-editor
to make usable de desktop.
Now in Karmic FRESH INSTALL the things are worse.I put one default image on
background and the a simple windows (ex nautilus) its like snap moving the
refresh of the window is slow when i change between them. ALL SPECIAL EFFECTS
ARE DISABLED (COMPIZ AN OTHER STUFF). The desktop resolution are 1920X1600 heah
this is native resolution. The driver installed is Restricted driver. I guess
ths is the limit of my hardware and after 4 years of ubuntu I need to change on
other light distro. The changes in gconf-editor seems to not working for
example the reduced_resources produce no effect. Thanks and sorry for my bad
English. I don't have experience with Launchpad but I can send you other info.
