This maybe could be developed so that, instead of a pixel position, it could be a relative-to position, or have an option that when an item in a panel is removed, to shift all items after it by its pixel width (so check if the applet is right or left docked and then get all left & right panels with a position greater than the one being removed, and subtract the width of the one being removed from the remaining applets.
