It's reproducible.
My wireless router is behind the lan, I have a desktop always connects to
the lan network and so my laptop can see it if there is no other machine use
my  wireless. But I have a powerbook (mac) and when it is on, I cannot see
my desktop. What I do is turn off my wireless in my ubuntu laptop and then
it can see the desktop.
