I'm also experiencing this behavior (ubuntu 9.10), but with a singular thing : When launching Rhythmbox, if I try to read 'http://network.absoluteradio.co.uk/core/audio/ogg/live.pls?service=vcbb', it will work. Then, if I try to listen to 'mms://stream.mosaiquefm.net/mosaique64k' it DOES work. Then, with 'mms://vipmms9.yacast.net/encoderrireetchansons', I get an error with 'Impossible de démarrer le pipeline de lecture', and then NO OTHER media (eg 1st tried web-radio, nor an mp3 song) works, unless I quit Rhythmbox and restart it.
