Binary package hint: gnome-media
Steps to reproduce:
- open Sound Preferences
- check that 'Output volume' is greater than 0% and Mute is not checked
- on the 'Sound Effects' tab, select the 'No sounds' sound theme
- click Close and restart computer
Ubuntu will now start with the 'Output volume' at 0% and Mute selected.
If you now change the sound theme back to Ubuntu, set 'Output volume' to
a value greater than 0% and uncheck Mute, Ubuntu won't mute the 'Output
volume' at the next boot.
