Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

When you search for the text-string '\t' in gedit, it will search for a
tab, and not for the string '\t'. To do that you have to search for
'\\t'. Is this a bug or a feature? In either case you should tell a non-
programmer to search for '\\t' if he wants the text-string starting with
a slash.
