Public bug reported: Binary package hint: yelp
This is an error in the network manager: After a certain time, the network manager wants to renew the connection to the wireless access point. In 9.04 it did not connect due to a fault in how passwords were handed from the keyring to the daemon. In 9.10 another problem occurs: The connection terminates. Neither renewing the connection nor disabling networking (wireless or networing alltogether) helps. Reinitializing networking /etc/init.d/networking restart does not work. This happens on different machines variably often but it happens and the machine has to be rebooted. (and btw. it has nothing to do with VMWare, as I disabled and deinstalled vmnet, same effect). The CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS come every second or so. this is essential ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Tue Nov 17 21:05:16 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/yelp InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release Candidate i386 (20091020.3) Package: yelp 2.28.0-0ubuntu2 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic SourcePackage: yelp Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 ** Affects: yelp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- Wireless network connection terminated and cannot reconnect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/484422 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
