Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
In certain applications, when switching to fullscreen mode, the panel
will initially still be on top of the application until you click inside
the application.
These programs experience it:
Google Chrome
Picasa 3
digiKam
gThumb
Whereas these programs do not:
VLC
Eye of Gnome
Obviously it has something to do with how these programs render fullscreen or
tell gnome-panel to go underneath. I am using the experimental "xorg-edgers" 3D
radeon open source drivers on a new kernel... but as far as I can remember,
this problem was present when I first installed Karmic from a fresh install.
I like using some programs fullscreen, like digiKam or gThumb for photo
slideshows, so it's a bit of a pain that the panel doesn't hide straight
away.
Thanks.
