This happens in both Jaunty and Karmic. I do not recall, being new to
Ubuntu, whether it ever worked, but I seem to remember being able to
transfer all files without any problems.

>From home, I connect to my workplace server using Secure WebDAV. After
doing so, the drive is mounted and I can browse files. I can change any
file's name on the server, and I can delete any file. I can upload
files.

But if I try to download (drag and drop or copy and paste) any
OpenOffice file format, the file is "not found." I can go to the file's
properties and find its size and such, so it is not truly missing.

If I try to simply open the OO file, it is of "an unknown type"--despite
the fact that a copy of the same file on my local filesystem opens with
a simple doubleclick.

If I try to open, for instance, a DOC file, it works (and it is OO
Writer which opens it). The same is true of PDF files.

Another recent WebDAV error occurred which may be related: when trying
to copy a folder from the WebDAV to my desktop, a single file, which is
an html list of the files in that folder, is created rather than an
actual folder full of files.

I have done no alterations to the system, but I have installed updates
regularly.
