you're having a laugh.  No wonder Ubuntu doesn't stand a chance against
Windows.  Your solution is a hidden directory that isn't publicised in
any way shape or form ?

This _should_ be mounted to the Media folder because strangely enough
that's the STANDARDISED location.

I don't mean to sound shocked, but I really am.  That is a shocking
response only suitable for a techie with absolutely no clue about a
consistent file system lay out and/or usabaility and/or learning curve
for newbies.

when I map a drive in nautilus it does not create a folder in /media so I 
cannot use command line toos with the mapping
