Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: totem
Dear Ubuntu developers,
First let me state that I am very pleased with the work you volunteers
have done so far. Ubuntu is the only Desktop system I use since 3 years
and I am very happy with it...:-) Everytime there is a new version of
Ubuntu I switch to the newest version by freshly installing my system.
Right now I use Ubuntu 9.10 'Karmic Koala' (freshly installed as well).
The bug I have encountered is the following:
I watch my movies with the totem movie player. In contrast to many bug
reports, it correctly inhibits the screensaver / energy saving settings
to take over. I can watch my movie just fine.
The problem is that the screensaver / energy saving settings do not kick
in after the movie has finished playing. What I expect is that the
computer suspends some time after the movie has finished playing.
Unfortunately it doesn't so the computer stays on all night when I watch
a movie lately...Right now I use 'gshutdown' to switch off the computer
after a fixed period of time but of course, this is only a workaround.
I hope I gave you enough information to solve the problem.
Kind regards,
André Kaldenhoven
