That's an applet? It's the only one I could access from the 'add to panel' menu (which is very limited btw). I guess the name is gnome- volume-control (it says that's the command anyhow). But the one I started out with after upgrading had a simple slide. This one has to load before I can do anything. Much slower.
But I tried changing the sound volume permanently through system > preferences > sound You know, in the standard 'system' menu. Today it seems to know my preference, but I don't know that it will tomorrow. In general, as an end user without an ubuntu geek as tech support, I very much prefer instructions which use screen shots and/or menu directions to instructions which involve the terminal. Instructions like 'system > preferences > sound' with a screen shot at the end to show how settings should look work very well. -- since latest full ubuntu update sound is not good. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/487219 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
