Indeed, if you disable the plugin mentioned above, it will behave like
you want it too

when I click the 'X' in the upper right corner, Rhythmbox doesn't quit but
hides up on the panel. How annoying. I like Ubuntu b/c applications do what I
tell them, not what they think they want me to tell them. If I click 'X' I want
it to quit. Please fix this.
