Binary package hint: rhythmbox
I am running the package version 0.12.5-0ubuntu5 on Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
and the issue I'm having is as follows:
My music is in MP3 format (128kbps, joint stereo) located on a NAS
drive, which is formatted FAT32 and shared via SMB. I can connect to it
and mount it just fine with GVFS/Nautilus, and then manipulate files
successfully.
Setting the Libray location to smb://storage/music and ticking the
"Watch my library for new files" box has no effect. The share isn't
scanned and the Library is not updated/changed, even after restarting
Rhythmbox. However, I can import music from the share by going to the
Music menu and selecting the Import Folder option and pointing it to the
GVFS mounted share. The Library will populate properly but won't update
when I add, change or remove files on the share. Mounting the share via
fstab or mount.cifs works fine, so this looks to me like an issue
between Rhythmbox and GVFS. This function also works correctly on
locally stored music.
Please let me know what information I need to provide in order to assist
with the investigation process.
