Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

10 Years using Linux and every year I give Evolution one more chance, I don't
know why I bother.
This year it will not ask me for my password, already logged a bug report.

So I go to un-install Evolution, thank goodness I checked what was to be
removed before I continued the un-install.

I've always wondered why Ubuntu has Evolution as it's default e-mail
client, it seems that they are truly "bound at the hip".

As the attachment will prove. Un-install evolution-data-server-common and look
what else goes with it.
If I had continued with this like I did last year I'd have had the same
disastrous results, a completely broken system.
See attachment.

What is going on Ubuntu ? How can I un-install Evolution without killing
my system.

This needs to be addressed urgently and for crying out loud DROP
Evolution. In 10 years this program has never worked to satisfaction.
Thunderbird with the Lightening add-on is the clear winner in the e-mail
client stakes.

Clean Install of 9.04 64bit then updates applied.
Evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
$ cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.28-17-generic (bui...@crested) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu
4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #58-Ubuntu SMP Tue Dec 1 21:27:25 UTC 2009

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
