Public bug reported:
I'm a newbie with limited understanding of technical jargon. Migrating
from Windows and trying to duplicate functionality of Adobe Standard,
which will create PDF with hyperlinks intact for click through. In my
business, this is especially important in Evolution contact/email
manager.
I've installed PDF Creator and set up as a virtual printer to convert
PDFs; however, this appears to take a snapshot of the screen and create
a PDF with underlined blue font where the hyperlink should be, but no
hyperlink. I've also installed cups-pdf and performed the same
function, with the same result...a PDF with no hyperlinks.
I've noticed the OpenOffice suite has PDF conversion capability and I've
also confirmed that it will convert PDF with hyperlink functionality
intact (a beautiful thing). Attempting to workaround the limitation,
I've copied Evolution e-mail into OOo Writer and converted to PDF.
While the PDF conversion, with hyperlink, works wonderfully in OOo, the
paste function into Writer loses e-mail graphics and just shows a
"frame" where the graphic should be.
If I could combine these two programs, the problem would be solved. How
can I convert e-mails into PDFs with the hyperlink functionality AND
graphics still intact? Or am I hoping for something that Linux Ubuntu
just can't do yet?
Thank you in advance for any suggestions!
