I marked this as a duplicate of Bug #413728, but only now came to
realize that one talks about *removing*, not hiding items. They might be
of the same origin though, as they are very similar otherwise. And in
fact, the reporter of #413728 talks about "unchecking" which to me
implies hiding, not removing the item.
