Surely this bug should be killed, this is by design and has its use. I
don't see this as a bug. Do we need to inform people that setting UID
below 1000 will render the user invisible in the chooser, probably not,
as this is most likely the intention of the person lowering the UID of a
user. By default UIDs are generated 1000+ so this will not be
encountered by the majority of users except for those intentionally
lowering the UID.
