Public bug reported: .MPG files from my sony handycam don´t play on movie player in ubuntu 9.10, they worked fine in 8.04. In the file browser the the file icons take forever to appear, and when they do they just show yellow filmstrips with no images, then when I try to play the file I just get a black screen and no sound. The "properties" tag in movieplayer shows a duration of 0 seconds.
Strangely a few of the shorter files do show icons and do play, but first try to find codec "GStreamer element dvdspu". That fails, then they seem to play ok. Grateful for any help you can provide.
