Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: yelp

"System->Perferences->Sessions" used to, in Ubuntu 8.04, bring up a tree tabbed
screen.
The "options" choice "Remember Currently Running Application" when pressed
responded and recorded the layout of
the various desktops (I used 8 desktops). When you logged in again, the
terminal layouts, etc. in each desktop was restored.
in Ubuntu 8.10 the "Remember" choice doesn't respond and the layout is not
longer restored at login.

I found the feature VERY useful since I set up and use a complex
development environment.

I hope the feature can be repaired/restored.

Thanks
