Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

Since karmic, deskbar doesn't allow anymore to run a bash script. Which
was the case before.

For example, if I have a bash script with executable bit set in ~/bin
called "foobar", I was able previously to input in the Deskbar input
field "~/bin/foobar" and it would just run it.

Now Deskbar opens the bash script with "gedit" instead. Of course that's
now what I want from a shell script.

Nautilus is asking me if I want to run it or use the default action, if
I run a bash script from the UI.

I've tried to input into Deskbar input field "/bin/bash ~/bin/foobar"
but even that is not working.

Version of Ubuntu in which bug is found : Karmic
Version of Deskbar:
ii deskbar-applet 2.28.0-0ubuntu3

Best regards
