I confirm this bug on Jaunty too. Very boring. As Sebastien Bacher said, un-checking the "GNOME Login Sound" in Startup Application" or removing the line seems to work until you reopen the window and see that the line is back. I think this "GNOME Login Sound" setting should be placed in the Sounds > Sound Effects configuration window. I would like to understand in what extend this setting is an "Application"...
