Well... if it's reproducible... don't know, it just happens from time to time. Last few time happened after watching videos in Totem in full screen. Old AWN showed in full screen, and disappeared after moving mouse cursor over and out. After that the problem occurred. For some time I was thinking it has something to do with using Audacious as it's always on (and in tray, unless I'm playing with it's list) when this things happens, but I'm not sure any more. There's nothing constant in what I'm doing that may cause this behaviour, so, I'm guessing it's something I'm not aware of. Don't know if it'll be helpful: I've got normal visual effects turned on, and one screenlet applet set to below. If there's a way to check parameters for my desktop objects that tells what should be kept below and what over or on what layer objects are set to show on, I'd be probably of more help for this, next time this thing occurs.
