Saverio, the reason for having it disappear is because otherwise, it
would prevent users from being able to click on window elements below
the notification box.  For Jaunty Jackalope (9.04), it did not do this,
and it would be fairly annoying if you used an application like Pidgin
that also used notification icons to display status changes of buddies.

I do agree that it can be improved, but not having it disappear was
actually worse than the current behavior.

Also, I am a little confused by your statement "when a user connects to
a wireless network, it says 'click on the icon'".  I am not aware of
this behavior.  Does this happen only for joining new networks?
