** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

  - I'm on karmic

  - I edited /etc/default/grub to add "noapic" :

  "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash noapic"

  because without that, there is a kernel panic :

  - When i'm on ac power, the system is very very slow, basically
  unusable, but when i'm on battery , it's at its normal speed

  - My system : HP 6530b

-  Thanks for any help
+ UPDATE:
+ i've now remove "noapic" from /etc/default/grub, run "update-grub",
restarted, still the same thing slow when ac power is plugged in.
+
+  Thanks for any help
