At least one other user has posted that they have the same issue (John Pavlakis). The odd thing is the timing. Sometimes i get as far as logging in. Sometimes not. Sometimes after i log in I can pull down a menu, mabe, sometimes it hangs before then.
One thing I noticed is that audio doesn't work when simply running "startx", whereas with gdm, i get a nice splash screen, with audio, and a login prompt. If there was a way to "selectively" disable the features gdm provides over startx, I would happily do that (turn everything off... urn it on one thing at a time until it breaks). -- gdm hangs shortly after login, startx works (v. 9.10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510200 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
