Binary package hint: startupmanager
I tried to uncheck all startup programs that I don't need, but one thing I
uncheck disables alsa.
I'm not sure whether it is "GNOME Login Sound" or "Volume Control" because my
test has been inconclusive. It may be both of them.
This has been happening for a while. I just got around to reporting it.
System information for me:
I use Karmic Studio with all updates. I kill pulseaudio because I use wine and
wish to use alsa directly. (I have edited /etc/pulse/client.conf to prevent
re-spawn.)
