Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
gnome-panel is not loading when I login. I get the desktop with the wallpaper and the icons but no gnome-panel. If I use a desktop launcher to open a terminal and start `gnome-panel &` from there, it loads and works ok. Deleting ~/.gnome2, ~/.gnome2_private, ~/.gconf, ~/.gconfd does not solve the problem. I get a fresh desktop configuration, but same behaviour as above. Adding gnome-panel to the Startup Applications starts a gnome-panel, but it does not show. The only difference this makes is that when I open the terminal to fix the problem I have to do `killall gnome-panel` instead of `gnome-panel &`. However, another account on the machine starts and loads gnome-panel just fine. Please advise for any further information I can provide.
